30 Ways to Practice Self-Care

self care tips and idea

Life is hard right now.

There is no script for what is happening. There is no formula to follow. We’re all in this together, figuring it out as we go.

News updates come by the hour, some by the minute. It’s hard to find that middle ground between avoiding all new information and feeling complete overwhelm.

Life has changed. Routines have changed. Self-care has changed.

Looking back to a few weeks ago, illuminated are the little things that were so easy to take for granted. Time with family, happy hours with friends, date nights… and so much more.

Clients have been reaching out and sharing concerns about their world, now upside down.

In this moment, be kind to yourself. Routines are not going to be perfect. Life will likely be messy and possibly, uncomfortable for a while. Be patient with your ability to adapt to these changes.

If you’ve been thinking this is the time to “do that thing”- learn to play guitar, write that book, start that project… great! But, be sure to give yourself permission to do the opposite if you need to. It is okay to take a step back from the hustle and bustle and take this time to listen to your body and soul, and respect its needs. Lean into what you need (and don’t need) right now. Take time to simplify your life instead of adding to your to-do list.

It’s now more important than ever to take care of ourselves, physically and mentally- with daily self-care. Some days you might only have a quick minute, while other day you might have more time to do something that takes a bit more time. No matter what, it doesn't have to be complicated.
